Use Scaffolding For These Jobs Inside Your Home
Scaffolding is often seen as something to be used outside, whether it's to put new siding on a home or get up to the roof for a roofing job. However, it's important to know that you can also rent scaffolding to make jobs inside your home easier and safer. In some cases, you'll be slightly limited by the available floor space inside your home, but as long as you can properly set the scaffolding up, it can make your life significantly easier during a wide range of jobs. Here are some interior jobs for which you should consider renting scaffolding.
Cleaning A Ceiling Fan
A ceiling fan in an average room is easy to reach, but when you have one in a room with vaulted ceilings, it becomes very challenging to get to. You can't really lean a ladder against one side of the ceiling, for example. This is a job that is perfectly suited for scaffolding. You can set a couple sections of scaffolding up directly under the fan and stand next to it while you clean the dust from its blades. This isn't something that you'll need to do all the time, but is a valuable job to perform to improve the air quality inside your home.
Refinishing A Ceiling
Some homeowners opt to refinish their ceiling by scraping off the popcorn-style stucco. This gives the room more of a modern look, but the job can be arduous and require a significant time investment. You don't want to be standing on a ladder for the entirety of this job. Using a ladder can make your feet tired and sore. Instead, set up a single section of scaffolding, and you'll have a solid surface beneath your feet while you work. The scaffolding will also provide a place to keep your tools for the job without having to hold onto them.
Installing A Hanging Light
If you're installing a light in a room with a high ceiling, scaffolding can be an ally. The installation of a light can be a challenge because you simultaneously need to hold the light while connecting the wiring and mounting hardware. On your own, you can quickly run out of hands for holding everything. This job is easier with two people, but you can't have two people on a ladder. Instead, each of you can stand on a section of scaffolding to get the job done quickly and safely.
